In this project for Dynamical Systems, we were attempting to make a system that could be considered chaotic. I was responsible for the mathematical derivation (located here), computational simulation, and generating the G-code to mill the washboard out of aluminum. By showing that the equations governing our washboard were the same as a driven pendulum, I demonstrated that this system is chaotic. After using MATLAB to find the proper parameters, we built a system that did exhibit the same chaos we predicted.
